IPAG, Institut de Planétologie & d’Astrophysique de Grenoble
Institute of Planetology and Astrophysics of Grenoble

IPAG addresses stellar and planetary formation, from the initial phases of the core collapse where molecular complexity builds up, to the circumstellar disk physics and chemistry and planets formation, including star-disk interaction via the star magnetosphere. IPAG also works on the physical processes implied in accretion-ejection phenomena around young stellar objects and compact objects where high energy and relativistic effects are involved. In planetary sciences, IPAG studies sun-earth interactions, planetary subsurfaces, small bodies in the solar system, and the chemical evolution of primitive matter. To accompany these thematic research themes, IPAG works on cutting edge instrumental developments.

IGE, l’Institut des Géosciences de l’Environnement
Institute for Geosciences and Environmental research

IGE conducts research on climate, the water cycle, cryosphere and natural and anthropized environments. This research aims to better understand the processes that govern the various geophysical compartments (ocean, atmosphere physics and chemistry, cryosphere, watersheds, critical zone), their interactions and responses to human pressures, and the processes of adaptation and resilience of societies.

LECA, Laboratoire d’Ecologie Alpine
Laboratory of Alpine Ecology

LECA’s research aims to understand the mechanisms driving the origin of biodiversity, the spatio-temporal dynamics of biodiversity and the associated functions, and predicting their response to a variety of drivers (climate change, pollution, land use change, invasive species, … ), with a special focus on alpine ecosystems.
