Supervisory authorites

Created and governed by state decrees, the OSUG is a component of the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), establishment under the supervisory of the French State, and in particular the Ministries:

  The OSUG is composed of :
  
  – The 832 Joint service unit (UMS), which groups research support, is supervised by CNRS, UGA (UMS 832), IRD (US 222), METEO-FRANCE and INRAE.
  – Units affiliated to one or more higher education institutions and / or research organizations: :

• CNRS - Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique [2]
• IRD - Institut de Recherche pour le Développement [2]
• USMB - Université de Savoie Mont Blanc [1]
• Grenoble-INP, Institut Polytechnique [1]

Supervisory authorities are involved in funding and staffing; they are usually the employers of most of the staff, the legal officers of the units, the owners or managers of the premises, etc.
