Ocean currents around the Reykjanes Ridge (1)

The circulation of the ocean around the Reykjanes Ridge
is supposed to be a key process in the dynamics of the Atlantic
Meridional 0verturning Circulation (MOC). The internship consists in studying its dynamics by constructing
and using a numerical model of the ocean dynamics based on
the shallow water equations.
A special emphasis will be put towards studying the instability
of the currents and their turbulent dynamics which leads to
an increased mixing of the water masses.
