The ocean currents around the Reykjanes Ridge (2)

The circulation of the ocean around the Reykjanes Ridge is supposed to be a key process in the dynamics of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (MOC). The internship consists in studying the dynamics of
this circulation by investigating a laboratory model as a function of the dominant experimental parameters. A special emphasis will be put towards studying the instability of the currents and their turbulent dynamics which leads to an increased mixing of the water masses.
